About the Business

Family-Owned and Operated. Local to the Valley.

JAA Excavation is a small, family-owned backhoe service out of the Rio Grande Valley. We run the machine, answer the phone, and show up when we say we will. English y español.

The Story

Built in the RGV

Our family is from the Valley. We learned dirt work the way most operators down here learn it: on ranches and job sites, next to relatives and neighbors who’d been running a backhoe long before we were old enough to drive. By the time we put a machine of our own to work, we already knew what a clean trench looked like, and what a rushed pad felt like a month later when something cracked.

We started JAA Excavation to take on the small to mid-size jobs the big crews don’t slow down for. It’s a family operation, top to bottom. The person who quotes you is the person who shows up. The person who shows up is family on the controls. If something needs to be made right, you call one number: same number, same family.

Valley dirt has its own personality. Caliche where you don’t want it, sandy loam where you do, clay that turns to glue after a Gulf rain, brush that grows back faster than you can clear it. Crews that come down from Houston or San Antonio figure that out the hard way. JAA is built for how the ground here actually behaves.

Family on the machine. Honest quotes. On the job when we said we’d be. Bilingüe, English y español, whatever you’re more comfortable in. That’s the whole pitch.

The Iron

Equipment We Run

The right tool for the job, kept maintained and ready to roll.

John Deere 310 Backhoe Loader

Our John Deere 310, owned by the family, maintained by the family, kept ready to roll. Handles digging, lifting, and loading on nearly any residential or small-commercial job in the Valley.

Skid Steer Attachments

Bucket, grapple, and brush attachments for tight side yards, narrow lots, and brush jobs the backhoe can’t reach.

Dump Trailer + Heavy Pickup

For hauling caliche, debris, and material in and out. We handle the haul ourselves on most jobs, no waiting on a separate truck or driver.

We bring the right tool for the job. If your job needs more, we coordinate with trusted RGV operators.

Why People Hire Us

What You Get Every Job

Family On Site

Every job. The person who quotes the work is family. The person on the machine is family.

Local to the Valley

We know RGV dirt, RGV permits, and RGV weather. Not a crew that drove down from somewhere else for the season.

Shows Up When We Say

When we say Tuesday, we mean Tuesday. If weather or a utility locate pushes it, you hear from us first, before sunup, not after we’re late.

Honest Quotes

The number we give you is the number you pay. If the job actually changes, you hear about it before we keep working, not on the invoice.
