Land Clearing · Rio Grande Valley

Land clearing & brush removal in the Rio Grande Valley

Mesquite, huisache, retama — we clear lots, ranches, fence lines, and building pads across Hidalgo, Cameron, and Willacy counties. From a single acre to fifty.

The Problem

Overgrown lots cost you money.

Mesquite and huisache grow fast in the Valley. Leave a piece of land alone for two years and you've got a brush wall — fire risk, snake habitat, and a fence line you can't get to. Pretty soon you can't even walk the property.

Clearing it right matters. A bulldozer-only pass leaves the stumps and the roots, and the brush grows back in eighteen months. We grub the roots out so it stays clear, and we shape the ground while we're at it so you can fence it, build on it, or run cattle without the regrowth fight.

Whether you're prepping a homesite, opening up a hunting lease, knocking back overgrowth on a ranchette, or clearing a fence line so the surveyor can find the pins — we run the equipment that does it in days, not weeks.

Scope

What’s included

Brush & tree removal

Mesquite, huisache, retama, ebony — taken down and stacked or loaded for haul-off.

Root grubbing

We pull the root balls so the brush doesn't come back next season.

Stump removal

Stumps pulled out, not ground down. Cleaner finish, ready for follow-on work.

Debris hauling

Trailered out and disposed of legally — no dumping at the back of the property.

Burn-pile clearing

Where county burn bans allow, we stack and burn brush on site to keep cost down.

Grading after clearing

Light grade to smooth out the ground so it's ready for fencing, building, or pasture.

Recent Jobs

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does land clearing cost per acre in the RGV?

Light brush runs around $1,200–$2,000 per acre. Heavy mesquite with big root balls and haul-off can run $3,000–$5,000 per acre. We give you a per-acre number after we walk the property — no guessing from the road.

What equipment do you run?

We run a backhoe loader with a brush rake and grappling bucket for most clearing work. For heavy timber or tight fence-line work we bring different attachments. We're set up for Valley brush, not Hill Country oak.

What happens to the debris?

Three options: stacked on site for the customer to burn later, burned on site (when county rules allow), or hauled off to a legal dump site. We tell you the cost difference up front so you can choose.

How long does it take per acre?

Light brush: half a day per acre. Heavy mesquite with grubbing: a full day per acre, sometimes more. Big jobs we run two pieces of equipment to keep the timeline tight.

Do you handle burn permits?

Burn rules change by county and by the season's drought status. We check current conditions for Hidalgo, Cameron, and Willacy and let you know if a burn is on the table or if you need to permit it with the county.

Do I need to clear before fencing?

Yes — fence crews need a clear path. We coordinate timing with your fence contractor so the ground's ready when they show up.
